Another usability change made in version 5 of The Rubricator, is how the "Rubric Screen"
works. Although most of the functionality was made easier in version 4.5, we've
continued to add your "feature" requests...
When you open a rubric record the
first thing you will see is the rubric grid.
Take a look at the added "Rubric Control Buttons" to the
left of the grid.
If you don't like the current level titles of your rubric
(Level 4, Level 3, etc.) just click the Change Titles
button. You'll be asked if you want to pick new titles
from the current list of title options, or create new
ones on the fly. The choice is yours.
Adding a new element (row) to
your rubric is just a click away using the Add button. Again you'll be
asked if you want to choose an element you may have saved previously, or jump right in
and create a new one.
A confusing issue in previous versions of The Rubricator
was just how do you edit an element in the rubric grid. Now you have a choice, the old
way, double clicking the row, or now, highlight it by clicking once, and pressing the
Edit button.
What about rearranging what order the rows are in your
rubric? Want the last row to be first? Highlight it and click the Move Up
button. Want to move it back? Use the Move Down button.
What if you
don't want that element (row) in your rubric at all? Just click the Remove
button.
If you decide you don't like any of the changes you've made, click the
Cancel button located in the tool bar, you'll be returned to the list
screen, and your rubric record will revert to the last time you it was saved.
Speaking of the tool bar...
An added feature to version 5 is the HTML Export
button (version 4-4.5 hid the HTML feature under the print
option). Once your rubric is set the way you'd like click
HTML Export button to create a "Web-Ready" version of
your work. You get to choose the style of the look you
prefer in example style view screen.
Just like some programs have skins that can be downloaded,
as new layouts become available, your arsenal of web styles
can be updated with a simple download.

Export. Each link uses a different color style from the many choices that are available.
